Current Projects in Sierra Leone

Construction has begun in Sierra Leone!

A year ago we pledged to build our first 10 wells in Sierra Leone. It didn’t take much convincing: this war-torn country bears the distinction of having the highest child mortality rate in the world. The average life expectancy in Sierra Leone is just 42 years of age.  Lack of access to clean water causes chronic illness and suffering for the poorest of the poor.

But conditions are changing for the 1,708 people in the villages of Kenema, Njala, and Jimmi. We have just broken ground on new wells in these communities, and soon they will enjoy clean water and better health.

Currently we have commitments for six of the ten wells and are working hard to fund the remaining four. With persistence, prayer, and patience we will reach this goal and 2010 will be much brighter for our friends in Sierra Leone.

We are currently seeking sponsorship for the remaining 4 wells in Sierra Leone. Click here to donate.
