Water To Thrive Faculty/Staff Banquet at Concordia

Faculty and staff are invited to the 3rd annual Water to Thrive Banquet and Silent Auction. The funds raised from this event goes toward the latest Concordia well project in the Tigray region of Ethiopia. The evening will include special food items as well as a traditional coffee ceremony. The chapel offerings for the month of April are being donated to Water to Thrive. The school children will learn how their offerings can touch the lives of others around the world, and more specifically, people in need of clean water.

TLU hosts Benefit Dinner and Silent Auction

The Texas Lutheran University (TLU) Jon and Sandra Moline Center for Servant Leadership will host a Benefit Dinner and Silent Auction to raise funds for Water to Thrive, a faith-based organization that constructs water wells in rural Ethiopia. The event will feature Ethiopian cuisine, on Tuesday, April 12, starting at 5 p.m. at Mosaic Community Church (1201 Court Street). The event will also feature a Silent Auction where guests will have the opportunity to bid on items such as a personal spa package, various gift certificates for restaurants and entertainment.

Tickets cost $15 and can be obtained by calling the Center for Servant Leadership at 830-372-8160 or contacting rhruza@tlu.edu. This event is open to the public.

FCSW Walk For Water

This year Walk for Water is partnered with Water2Thrive’s efforts in Robit, Ethiopia – home to over 11,000 people. Water2Thrive is currently working to install a deep bore-hole well and should be completed in June 2011. While they’re working we’re talking, bringing awareness to the need for clean water across the globe. Any contributions we receive will be sent directly to Water2Thrive so they can continue giving others what we so often take for granted.
