Water to Thrive operating costs for 2008 were underwritten through a grant from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. In addition, the Texas Regional Field Office sponsored 6 water projects in 2008.

Water to Thrive is working with the Development and Social Service Commission to implement 10 water projects in the Central Gibe Synod of the Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus, changing the lives of 8,000 men, women, and children.
